Listing to the music helps especially when practicing this song, because the

verses are 4/4,

whereas most of the chorus is 6/8 with some 2/8 bars mixed in to make it

interesting.

Playing with the original sometimes sound a bit out of tune,

but when playing solo it sounds much like the original.

The original is not a guitar song, so there is no definite 'correct'

strumming pattern.

For me works:

Verse: slow single strum for each chord

Chorus: like a waltz 2 times 3 strums per bar: down up down down up down, etc

Note the A* in the chorus. The chord stays A, but the accordion adds some

very recognizable notes.

To create something similar you can add some notes to the chord (or find a

buddy with accordion to join).
