Didn't see chord layout for this song and my sister asked me to play it for
her, so I figured it out and
thought I'd share for all of the other RdC fans out there.
At the beginning of each verse, mute the strings and strum for the percussion
sound that Rochelle uses. Don't
strum until 'magazine' on the first verse and the subsequent count for the
following verses.
Strumming pattern (as best I can tell) is: thumb root note, down up down up
(x2) for each chord listed except
for:
line 5 of each verse which goes F down mute down mute to G
last line of each verse you play the aforementioned strumming pattern ONCE on
the D bar chord (not twice) and
then slide it down to the capo, mute the strings for the percussion bit, then
start again on the C
For F# chord keep pinky from G and put 2nd finger on 2nd fret of 6th string,
empasize the bass
End of the song, stay on D and let it ring
[Verse 1]
C
Did you read it in a magazine
G
While you were sitting on a plane
C
Was it somethin' 'bout Saint Augustine
G
Or the life of Charlemagne
F G (F barre chord, slide to G)
That one king who went insane
F G (F barre chord, slide to G)
You forgot his name
A (A barre chord to D barre chord)
But you're a regular sponge, you just soak it all up
D (Slide D barre chord down to capo and mute)
Always been that way
[Verse 2]
C
And did you see a documentary
G
Can't keep it to yourself
